CLEAN AIR ACT

CLEAN AIR ACT

$78.00

The Clean Air Act is a pollution control statute that regulates various sources of air pollutants (like power plants, factories, and cars). The Clean Air Act is exceptionally complicated and can be a beast to work with, but what is important to know is that it plays (or at least should play!) a key role in limiting greenhouse gas emissions and other toxic air emissions. Clean air is also a matter of human health and environmental justice, as many of the areas with the most polluted air are low income and communities of color. You can stay informed about your local air quality with an app called EPA AIRNow.

The Trump administration has proposed weakening multiple aspects of the Clean Air Act. For one, it trying to weaken corporate average fuel economy standards (CAFE standards), which means that auto manufacturers are being held to lower standards when it comes to making efficient cars. And two, it is repealing and replacing the Clean Power Plan, which limited greenhouse gas emissions from power plants, with a rule that favors coal-fired power plants. Many environmental organizations are fighting back against these attacks.

This collection was designed to raise awareness about important environmental laws while giving more back to groups that use these laws to protect the environment. 20% of sales go to grassroots environmental organizations.
